Glory Just Around the Corner

I did a search on the word think at www.biblegateway.com and found 79 results, as I looked through the list I found myself thinking….. When we were created in the image of God it was with the full intent of us being like Him in every way, but because of the introduction of sin into our world our lives were forever changed. Not that we could not be like Him, Think like Him, BE LIKE HIM, but that we would have to choose.

God made a choice:

John 3:16(KJV)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joshua tells us that we have a choice to make as well in Joshua 24:15 (KJV)…,”choose you this day whom ye will serve.”

The only problem with having a choice is that it requires THINKING. According to Dictionary.com the word think has many definitions, but the one that really struck me is as follows: thinking: to have a conscious mind, to some extent of reasoning, remembering experiences, making rational decisions, etc.

There are times that we get so caught up in thinking, trying and hoping to figure things out that we tend to loose sight of the big picture and decide that God is not doing His job. Peter said it best in 1 Peter 4:12-13 (MSG) “Friends, when life gets really difficult, don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.”

God does have a plan for your life, He may not “do” things on your time table, but He will open doors when the timing is right. Just like a diamond starts out as a ugly, almost worthless piece of black coal and becomes a beautiful from the pressures around it the same is true for you. The things that you are going through that you feel like you cannot take much more before you break, know that God will never leave you or forsake you, He is with you always. (Hebrews 13:5  KJV)
